Dear honorable delegates and advisors,

I am so pleased to extend you a welcome to MidSouth Model United Nations! Held for thirty-seven years now, MSMUN is a tradition that we look forward to every February. Listening to world-class delegates debate global issues on our small campus gives me so much hope for the future of our world leaders. This year, I hope you will find the changes made to MSMUN to have streamlined all of our processes, as well as made things more enjoyable for you, the delegates and sponsors.

Please take note of our new website homepage, where I trust everything can be easily found. Committees are organized by type; Crisis, GA, or DPI. Next, please take note of our new registration process – found under the homepage button “Register Now.” Delegates will be redirected to a google form with options for each and every committee. Keep in mind that first-year delegates are ineligible for crisis committees, but are welcome to both GA and DPI. Before beginning registration, please look through this year’s committees to see what interests you, learn more about our chairs, and read through the background guides on which they worked so tirelessly.

This year will also see a re-vamping of Crisis, under director Isaiah Challen and deputy director Jennifer Weissman. We seriously hope that our delegates involved in the Commonwealth of Independent States, a fictional Star Trek Committee, and the UN Security Council are challenged in new and exciting ways, with twists and turns around every corner. For more information about our director and deputy director, or any member of the Secretariat, please visit our Secretariat Page!

Please see the calendar below for important dates regarding MSMUN 2018. If you have any questions before the conference, please feel free to reach out to a member of the Secretariat at MSMUN@rhodes.edu. If you are looking for the 2018 MSMUN welcome packet, that can be found at the bottom of this page!

Sincerely,

Emily Adeline Perry, Secretary General, and the entire MSMUN 2018 Secretariat
